Betrayal Backlash: Obama, Kerry Slammed and Schooled on Israel By Top Senate Democrat – by Guy Benson

30th December 2016

It’s not just conservatives who are furious with the Obama administration’s shameful betrayal of Israel at the United Nations shortly before Christmas — a number of leading Democrats are criticizing the move, which lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say further undermines both Israel’s security, as well as America’s bipartisan pro-Israel consensus. In his long-winded and unproductive speech this week, outgoing Secretary of State John Kerry spent an inordinate amount of time fixating on the issue of Israeli settlements, going out of his way to lambaste the “right-wing” government that Israeli voters have elected:

“The Israeli prime minister publicly supports a two-state solution, but his current coalition is the most right wing in Israeli history, with an agenda driven by the most extreme elements,” Kerry said. “The result is that policies of this government, which the prime minister himself just described as more committed to settlements than any in Israel’s history, are leading in the opposite direction. They’re leading towards one state.” Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Kerry pointedly noted, opposes a two-state solution, as do other members of the governing coalition.

Many Israelis see the two-state solution as an unrealistic pipe dream so long as Palestinians doggedly refuse to even recognize Israel as a Jewish state at all, with less than a quarter of Palestinians polled in favor of an outcome in which Israel has the right to exist as a Jewish nation.  Indeed, Kerry had barely finished speaking when a Palestinian official reiterated his side’s opposition to Israel’s existence, saying that the Secretary of State’s words changed nothing.  Those stark realities notwithstanding, Kerry invoked the word “settlements” more than 40 times during his address, while mentioning “Hamas” just four times. A few thoughts:

(1) It’s difficult to overstate the backwardness of a worldview that obsesses over Israel’s settlements — including housing developments within the Jewish Quarter of its own capital city — while paying relatively scant attention to the Palestinians’ anti-peace extremism. They will not recognize Israel as a legitimate Jewish state. They will not foreswear violence. They will not stop teaching their children to hate Israel and glorify the killing of Jews. They will not stop calling for the destruction of the state of Israel. These are the true, intransigent, violent barriers to peace, not Israeli settlements. These truths should be very obvious — and they have been to US policymakers for decades. That’s why the United States has always held the United Nations’ virulently anti-Israel jackals at bay in Security Council proceedings. Until this administration’s disgraceful abstention and alleged whipping of anti-Israel votes among other members last week, that is.

(2) Perhaps voters in Israel elected a harder-line government (in spite of, or perhaps because of, accusations of Obama administration meddling against Benjamin Netanyahu, whom Obama reportedly loathes) due to a prevailing suspicion that the Obama White House does not have Israel’s back. Obama has a long history of pandering to Israel’s adversaries, then brokered a disastrous nuclear deal with Iran, which Israel’s leaders understandably view as an existential threat to their people. Is it any wonder that faced with these global headwinds and historically-hostile American posture, Israeli voters would err on the side of electing a muscular government that prioritizes the safety and security of its citizens? The Obama administration has actively helped to isolate Israel on the world stage, and Israelis doesn’t trust American leadership right now. Kerry’s bemoaning of their electoral decisions is therefore ironic; Obama’s actions empowered the so-called “hardliners.”

(3) Crucially, there is a very relevant (and fairly recent) history lesson here that is evidently lost on Obama and Kerry’s “Smart Power” set.  It lays bear the foolishness and myopia of the ‘settlements’ tunnel vision. We’ve seen this movie before, and some of us remember how it played out — including incoming Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer. It’s astonishing that this even needs to be said, but it does:

Israel’s government unilaterally uprooted all settlements in Gaza back in 2005, forcibly removing thousands of its citizens from their homes in pursuit of peace. After the Israelis fully withdrew, the Palestinians in Gaza burned all Israeli remnants (including valuable resources) to the ground, then elected Hamas terrorists as their “government,” which has fired thousands of rockets at Israeli civilians and constructed terror tunnels.
Settlements are not blocking peace. The Palestinians are, because their leadership in Gaza and the West Bank — who have joined together on a number of occaions to form pro-terror unity governments — do not want peace.  Which is why the Obama administration’s decision to make Israel’s life even harder by validating Palestinian narratives among the international community is so reckless and indefensible.

SLAVERY, TERRORISM AND ISLAM: THE HISTORICAL ROOTS AND CONTEMPORARY THREAT – Book by Dr Peter Hammond

Islamisation begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse (multicultural) societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well.

Here’s how it works:

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 3% in any given country, they will be for the most part be regarded as a peace-loving Minority, and not as a threat to other citizens. This is the case in:
                 United States — Muslim 2%
                  Australia — Muslim 2.5%
                  Canada — Muslim 2.8%
                  Norway — Muslim 2.8%
                  China — Muslim 2.9%
                  Italy — Muslim 2.5%

At 3% to 8%, they begin to proselytise from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs.

                  This is happening in:

                  Denmark — Muslim 5%
                  Germany — Muslim 6.7%
                  United Kingdom — Muslim 7.7%
                  Spain — Muslim 8%
                  Thailand — Muslim 7.6%

From 8% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food, thereby securing food preparation jobs for Muslims. They will increase pressure on supermarket chains to feature halal on their shelves — along with threats for failure to comply.

                 This is occurring in:

                  France — Muslim 12%
                  Philippines — 9%
                  Sweden — Muslim 8%
                  Switzerland — Muslim 8.3%
                  The Netherlands — Muslim 8.5%
                  Trinidad Tobago — Muslim 10.8%

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 15% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions. In Paris, we are already seeing car-burnings. Any non-Muslim action offends Islam, and results in uprisings and threats, such as in Amsterdam, with opposition to Mohammed cartoons and films about Islam.

Such tensions are seen daily, particularly in Muslim sections, in:

                  Guyana — Muslim 15%
                  India — Muslim 19.4%
                  Israel — Muslim 16%
                  Kenya — Muslim 18%
                  Russia — Muslim 21%

After reaching 25%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues, such as in:

                  Ethiopia — Muslim 32.8%

At 40%, nations experience widespread massacres, chronic terror attacks, and ongoing militia warfare, such as in:

                  Bosnia — Muslim 40%
                  Chad — Muslim 53.1%
                  Lebanon — Muslim 59.7%

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non- believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels, such as in:

                  Albania — Muslim 70%
                  Malaysia — Muslim 60.4%
                  Qatar — Muslim 77.5%
                  Sudan — Muslim 70%

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels, and move toward 100% Muslim, such as has been experienced and in some ways is on-going in:

                  Bangladesh — Muslim 83%
                  Egypt — Muslim 90%
                  Gaza — Muslim 98.7%
                  Indonesia — Muslim 86.1%
                  Iran — Muslim 98%
                  Iraq — Muslim 97%
                  Jordan — Muslim 92%
                  Morocco — Muslim 98.7%
                  Pakistan — Muslim 97%
                  Syria — Muslim 90%
                  Tajikistan — Muslim 90%
                  Turkey — Muslim 99.8%
                  UAE — Muslim 96%

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ — the Islamic House of Peace.. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word, such as in:

                  Afghanistan — Muslim 100%
                  Saudi Arabia — Muslim 100%
                  Somalia — Muslim 100%
                  Yemen — Muslim 100%

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

“Before I was nine I had learned the basic canon of Arab life. It was me against my brother; me and my brother against our father; my family against my cousins and the clan; the clan against the tribe; the tribe against the world, and all of us against the infidel”. — Leon Uris, ‘The Haj’

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.

Today’s 2 billion Muslims make up 28% of the world’s population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world’s population by the end of this century.

PALESTINIAN PROPAGANDA

Posted in MIDDLE-EAST POLITICS with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on December 6, 2014 by drjgelb

Palestinians and their historically illiterate leftist champions, are escalating their rhetoric on an almost daily basis and antisemites are rejoicing to see Jews equated with the Nazis. This despicable distortion of the facts in a desperate attempt to establish moral equivalency between the industrial genocide of the Nazis and the exponential population explosion in the West Bank & Gaza is nonetheless succeeding on the hundreds of University campuses that receive Saudi funding as part of the Wahabbist’s $680 Billion global Islamisation initiative that has built 3000 Islamic Madrasah and hundreds of Mosques from which their Jihad by stealth gains increasing support and fanatic devotion. It is worth reminding readers who the Palestinians are and asking why on Earth would intelligent, educated Westerners support their fraudulent claims without fact-checking.

From an unknown source:

“CONCERNING PALESTINIANS”

“Just which Palestinians are you all talking about? The Palestinians who, in 1948, fled their homes to neighboring countries when the Arab world attacked Israel and told the Palestinians they can return after Israel is destroyed?

Or the Palestinians who lived in the West Bank under Jordanian (then Transjordan) occupation and annexation when Jordan attacked Israel in 1967 and lost both the war and the West Bank to Israel?

Or the Palestinians who, while living in Jordan in the 1970s, envisioned Jordan becoming their Palestinian state and started a civil war where King Hussein ultimately killed thousands of Palestinians and forcibly removed many from of his country, making them refugees?

Or the Palestinians who entered the Olympic Village in Munich, Germany, and murdered 11 Israeli athletes?

Or the Palestinians who infiltrated a high school in Ma’alot, Israel, took 102 students hostage, injured 50 and murdered 22?

Or the Palestinians who, among others, hijacked an Air France jetliner to Entebbe, Uganda, and held hostage more than 100 Israelis?

Or the Palestinians who were exiled from Jordan to a peaceful Lebanon and started a civil war that cost more than 120,000 lives and created more refugees, with many exiled from Lebanon?

Or the Palestinians who hijacked the Achille Lauro ocean liner and shot, murdered and threw overboard Leon Klinghoffer, a 69-year-old Jewish American paraplegic in a wheelchair?

Or the Palestinians in the Abu Nidal Organization who murdered an estimated 600 Palestinians from rival factions?

Or the Palestinians who wrote and live by the Hamas Charter that states, among other things, “… Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors”?

Or the Palestinians who enticed young and susceptible Palestinians to become suicide bombers with the promise that when they murder Israelis, they’ll receive rich rewards in the afterlife and financial security for their families?

Or the thousands of Palestinians in Ramallah who cheered as the bodies of two Israeli soldiers were thrown from a second story window after they were tortured and hacked to death?

Or the Palestinians who honored a suicide bomber with a military funeral for murdering 15 people (including seven children and five from one family) at the Sbarro pizza café in Jerusalem?

Or the thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza captured on video cheering as two airliners purposely crashed into the Twin Towers on 9/11?

Or the Palestinian families who received $25,000 from Saddam Hussein for their children’s “successful” suicide bombings?

Or a Palestinian like Yasser Arafat (although he was Egyptian born), who became a billionaire by stealing money from other Palestinians as they lived in squalor?

Or the Qatari born and Egyptian-raised Omar Barghouti (who refers to himself as a Palestinian), who co-founded the boycott, divestment, and [including educational] sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel while getting his doctorate at an Israeli university?

Or the Palestinians from Hamas (a group the U.S. and other countries label a terrorist organization) who, when they took control of Gaza, shot several hundred Fatah Palestinians in the legs, purposely crippling them for life?

Or the more than 100 Palestinians from Fatah crippled by Palestinians from Hamas who, at the confidential request from Mahmoud Abbas to Shimon Peres, received new legs and rehabilitation at a medical center in Israel
Or the two Palestinians who proudly confessed to the knife attack and murder of five members of the Fogel family, including the father, mother, and three of their six children, ages 11, 4 and 3 months?

Or the Palestinian mother, Raida Abu-Mustaffa, whose baby’s life was saved through funding and a rare heart operation by a Jewish doctor at an Israeli hospital, yet the mother dreamed that her daughter would one day become a martyr?

Or the gay Palestinian man who, while living in Tel Aviv (considered one of the gay-friendliest cities in the world), pleaded with Israel’s high court not to be deported to the West Bank because it would lead to persecution by his family and his detention, torture and death by Palestinian security forces?

Or the Palestinians in the West Bank who, in 2013, committed 27 honor killings against their wives, sisters and daughters?

Or the Palestinians who, since childhood, have been educated by books and newspapers that claim Jews are sub-human, satanic and animals, and that Israel is the root of all of their problems?

Or the Palestinians who grew up in refugee camps while Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Kuwait and Brunei became some of the wealthiest countries in world, gave virtually nothing to help the Palestinians and have purposely kept them in refugee camps as political tools since 1948?

Or the Palestinians who, for decades, promoted terrorism against Israel forcing Israel to build a security wall (that virtually ended all suicide bombings) and now call it the Apartheid Wall?

Or the Palestinians who, after Israel voluntarily withdrew from the Gaza Strip in 2005, giving the Palestinians land and self-determination, have fired more than 11,000 rockets at Israel, killing Israelis and causing thousands of injuries?

Or the Palestinians who, since the Oslo Accords were signed in 1993, have committed thousands of terrorist acts (not including rocket attacks from Gaza), murdering 1,472 Israelis?

Or the Palestinians from Hamas who kidnapped and murdered three Jewish teenage yeshiva (Torah study) students?

Or the Palestinians who denounced Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas because he condemned the kidnapping and murder of the three Jewish teens?

Or the Palestinian mother of Abu Aysha (one of the suspected murderers of the three Israeli teens) who said if he truly did it … “I’ll be proud of him till my final day. … I raised my children on the knees of the [Islamic] religion … their goal is to bring the victory of Islam”?

Or the Palestinian father of 17-year-old Mohammed Khdair, apparently murdered in retaliation for the three yeshiva boys, who said, “Whether Jew or Arab, who would accept that his son or daughter would be kidnapped and killed? And you want Israel to stop the bloodshed”?

PLEASE ALLOW ME TO EXPLAIN MY ANTI-JIHAD STANCE!

ANY loss of life is horrific, immoral and an outrage to me. As an Athiest, it sickens me that religion still costs lives in 2014 and as a humanist, killing for racial/ethnic hatred is idiotic when we all came from a common ancestor and differences in the DNA of all 7Billion humans on the planet amount to less than 0.1%.

Innocent civilian deaths make my blood boil because all violent conflicts represent the most primitive form of problem solving and cause eternal resentment, hatred & the creation of a vicious cycle that benefits no-one. That having been said and as a member of a persecuted minority whose family was all but destroyed by violence and hatred, I am profoundly angered to read and hear day after day, national leaders, clerics and their followers, shout to their supporters, “death to the Jews”, “gas them all” etc. The facts clearly prove that Jews have been on the receiving end of irrational, primitive ethnic and religious hatred for over 2000yrs, much of it due to being stateless, scattered and convenient to blame and scapegoat.

When over 80% of a nation believes a group of hated individuals are born of “apes and pigs” and must be destroyed and that population commits its children to perpetuate that evil lie by perverting their education from the time they are mere toddlers, one cannot blame the victims of such hatred and violence for eventually striking back.

Only Israel, amongst all nations, reacts to such hatred and genocidal intent by warning innocent civilians to leave in advance of military action. My beef is with terrorists everywhere and the ideology that drives them. When a religious scripture contains the compulsory orders to bring about my death and that of my entire family and global community, I will not walk passively to my doom.

I will use my skills to their utmost to do my bit to stop the violence and prevent those responsible from realising their destructive, delusional, grandiose and supremacist fantasies at innocent people’s expense. I do not hate, I lament.

THE ORIGINS AND HISTORY OF ISLAMIC JEW-HATRED

Posted in MIDDLE-EAST POLITICS with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on July 15, 2014 by drjgelb

Comprehensive article on the history and origins of Islamic hatred of Jews and the incorporation of this bigotry within the constitution of HAMAS. The details of 1500 years of massacres, pogroms, assassinations and constant degradation and cruel subjugation are presented and contextualised so that the reader gains an informed understanding of the intractable religious basis for the impossibility of Israel ever being accepted as a peace partner by its Islamic neighbours. Hatred of the Jews is mandated by Islam to such an extent, that a 21st century approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is impossible. If Arab Muslims accept the presence of Jews in their midst, they would have to turn their backs on one of the most central tenets of Islam, that Jews are the spawn of Apes & Pigs, that they are hellish servants of Satan and that it is the sacred duty of every Muslim to eliminate every last Jew from the Earth in order for Islamic Messianic times to become possible. These concepts pepper the speeches & sermons of contemporary Imams and the public pronouncements of current Muslim politicians & leaders, when speaking in Arabic. They are redacted from any public communications delivered in English. Ignorance of these core Islamic beliefs has led to an almost universally held false belief that Jews are responsible for the Arab/Israeli conflict. Could you reach a peace agreement with people that want to kill you & your family?

<Moral Equivalence, Moral Idiocy
By Bruce Thornton

I commend this article to readers of this Blog and ask that you think carefully about what can be learned from the response of each side in the Arab – Israeli conflict to the events of the last month. Palestinian political success is dependent upon maintaining the rage that they constructed and cynically sustain, a rage that resonates with Antisemites across the globe

Here then, is the article in full:

Scenes all too familiar from the Arab conflict with Israel have followed the murder last Wednesday of a 16-year-old Palestinian, Mohammed Abu Khdeir. Mourners at his funeral chanting the Muslim war-cry “Allahu Akbar” as they carry the boy’s open coffin, the crowd shouting slogans like “Intifada rise up” and “America and Israel are the terrorists,” banners representing terrorist organizations like Hamas and Islamic Jihad waving above the crowd, gangs of “youths” attacking Israeli police throughout East Jerusalem, barrages of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel, and the usual condemnations of Israel and calls for “restraint” from the “international community” – all sadly are business as usual. And the “business” is the demonization of Israel and the obscene double standards indulged by too many in the West.

The Israeli authorities have quickly tracked down and arrested 6 Israeli minors as suspects in the killing, even as the killers of the Israelis are still at large. Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu said, “We do not differentiate between terrorists, and we will respond to all of them.” The speed of the arrest, and Netanyahu’s unequivocal identification of the crime as an act of terrorism, should underline the differences between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, which seemingly is making little effort to hunt down the main killers of the 3 Israelis, and the Authority’s political partner Hamas, which praised the killings. As Netanyahu pointed out, “The murderers [of the Israelis] came from the territory controlled by the Palestinian Authority; they returned to territory controlled by the Palestinian Authority. Therefore, the Palestinian Authority is obliged to do everything in its power to find them, just as we did, just as our security forces located the suspects in the murder of Muhammad Abu Khdeir within a matter of days.”

But Israel’s enemies are unlikely to draw the proper conclusion from this contrast, or even take time to note how comparatively rare such violence on the part of Israelis is compared to the thousands of Israelis murdered by Palestinian Arabs over the decades. Rather, the moral and intellectual idiocy of the “cycle of violence” meme will determine reactions to this murder on the part of those too lazy or timid to choose a side, even as they hold Israel up to standards of behavior and forbearance no other country would accept. But there are good and bad sides in this conflict, and which side has the moral high ground can be seen by comparing further the reactions of each to the recent murders.

Listen, for example, to the response of Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas to the kidnapping of the Israeli teens, delivered at a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Saudi Arabia: “Those who kidnapped the three Israeli teenagers want to destroy us. First and foremost [these teenagers] are human beings like us. It is our responsibility to search for them and to return them to their families. We will hold their kidnappers accountable, whoever they are.”

For those impressed by these comments, notice that the first sentence condemns the kidnapping not as a moral evil or a terrorist act, but as a tactical blunder damaging the Palestinian Arab program of destroying Israel by “stages.” Bad p.r. is the problem, not the evil of terrorism or the deaths of 3 innocent teenagers. This sort of comment is consistent with Abbas’s past habit of joining general condemnations of terrorist acts to complaints about their bad timing or damage to Palestinian interests. Speaking of the Second Intifada and its brutal terrorism, Abbas commented, “If we do a calculation we will see that without any doubt what we lost was big and what we gained was small.” Later, speaking out against a rocket attack from Gaza, he said, “This is not the time for this kind of attack,” which suggests there is a time for shooting rockets at women and children. That is, blowing up innocents is not wrong, just inefficient at that particular time for achieving the long-term goal of a Palestinian state that eventually will include the territory of Israel.

But the larger context of Abbas’ crocodile tears is his own history of complicity in Jew-hatred and terror, and the PA’s program of genocidal incitement institutionalized in school curricula and popular culture. This is the man who evidence suggests financed the 1972 PLO massacre of Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics, and who, according to the mastermind of that attack, kissed the murderers on the cheek and wished them luck. This is the man whose 1983 doctoral dissertation claimed that Zionists collaborated with the Nazis to murder Jews in order to create sympathy for creating the state of Israel, and asserted that fewer than a million Jews had been murdered in the Holocaust. This is the alleged “moderate” who named a public square in Ramallah after a terrorist who in 1978 killed 38 Israelis, including 13 children. This is the leader whose government pays stipends to terrorist murderers and their families. And this is the head of state who has welcomed the genocidal terrorist outfit Hamas, which has praised the killing of the 3 Israelis, into his government. If, as appears certain, members of Hamas murdered the Israelis, does anyone believe that Abbas will “hold them responsible, whoever they are”?

Now compare Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu’s comments on the murder of the Palestinian boy before the arrests of the 6 suspects: “We don’t know yet the motives or the identities of the perpetrators, but we will. We will bring to justice the criminals responsible for this despicable crime, whoever they may be. Murder, riots, incitement, vigilantism — they have no place in our democracy.” A categorical condemnation of violence, not a statement of how such a crime harms his government or Israel, and a pledge quickly fulfilled in the swift arrest of 6 suspects. One sees the same contrast between Israel’s response to a brief anti-Arab protest, and the low profile of the PA police – armed and trained, by the way, by the U.S. – during the violence roiling Jerusalem and the West Bank:

Dozens of Israelis had protested in Jerusalem on Tuesday night against the kidnap and killing of the Israeli teens, and there were reports some had shouted ‘death to the Arabs’ at one of these demonstrations. Jerusalem District Police deployed units to the field to prevent the assault of Arab residents and police confirmed that there was an explosive confrontation between inflamed protesters seeking revenge and the Arab population.

Police forces managed to rescue eight Arabs from the mob and arrested 47 on charges of public disorder, attempted assault of Arab minors, assaulting police officers, and property damage.

No major press reports of PA police helping the Israelis keep order or arresting their own people for attacking Israeli citizens and police, let alone actively seeking to find the murderers of the 3 teens. Indeed, the U.S.-funded and trained force has over the years been complicit in terrorist violence. And more recently, as part of the rapprochement between the PA and Hamas, 3,000 PA police officers were sent to Gaza. We can be skeptical that they are there to prevent the various jihadist gangs from firing rockets against Israeli civilians.

These obvious differences between the responses to 2 heinous acts on the part of the people and governments of each side demonstrate that in this conflict moral equivalence is moral idiocy. The truth of history is that a people established under international law on the land of their ancestors have been assaulted, attacked, and invaded by the descendants of conquerors, colonists, and immigrants. In the midst of this existential threat and level of brutal violence against civilians, Israel has stayed true to its liberal democratic foundations and moral code even as it defends itself against a people filled with genocidal hatred. That many in the West cannot acknowledge this simple fact and instead hide behind “cycle of violence” evasions–– when they are not just indulging camouflaged anti-Semitism that always blames Israel–– is testimony to the moral rot of a decadent culture.

DEMONISING ISRAEL IS A SPORT FOR SOME

Posted in MIDDLE-EAST POLITICS with tags , , , , on August 19, 2013 by drjgelb

Another day, another hopelessly biased anti-Israel op-ed in “Online Opinion”. Philip Giraldi, 19/08/2013, claims there is no evidence that Iran has aspirations to join the nuclear club or to annihilate Israel, both of which it has shouted out its clear intentions for many years.

After assuring the reader that there is nothing at all to fear from Iran, Giraldi spews forth several paragraphs of anti-Israel propaganda and calls for the fulfilment of his ultimate wish, the disarming of Israel. Yeah, Right!!! Below is my recently posted OnLine Opinion comment:

“The author seeks to protect Iran and further demonise Israel by distortions of reality that are breathtaking in their audacity. Israel is not alone in fearing Iranian nuclear aspirations and that nation’s historical record of Jew hatred and duplicitous behaviour. There are cogent reasons that U.S. led sanctions are tightening around Iran. Muslim clerics and even Palestinian Authority politicians have publicly stated that they expect Iran to mount a nuclear attack on Israel as soon as a bomb is available, with one saying, “if we had an atomic bomb we would have dropped it on Israel this morning”! The new Iranian President is as beholden to Ayatollah Khameni as his predecessor and to describe this dictatorship’s political process as anything other than a single party dictatorship is ridiculous. Iran has a huge investment of both money and prestige at stake after years of promising the Arab World that it alone has the balls to take on and destroy Israel and after decades of deriding successive Arab leaders for negotiating with the “spawn of pigs and apes” and the “great Satan”. The author clearly despises Israel and is an apologist for the bellicose tyranny that is Iran.”
