Palestinian Leadership is an Oxymoron!

Bravo to the Trump Administration and its outstanding U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley for her latest U.N. Security Council address! The contrast with the pathetic Obama Administration is like Night & Day! Here is the transcript of her remarks but do watch the You Tube clip to feel the warm glow that only telling the truth can bring.

United Nations Office In Geneva

Remarks at a UN Security Council Briefing on the Situation in the Middle East

Nikki Haley

Thank you, Mr. Secretary-General, for being with us today, as well as to Mr. Mladenov for his briefing.

We are meeting today in a forum that is very familiar to all of us. This session on the Middle East has been taking place each month for many, many years. Its focus has been almost entirely on issues facing Israelis and Palestinians. And we have heard many of the same arguments and ideas over and over again. We have already heard them again this morning.

It is as if saying the same things repeatedly, without actually doing the hard work and making the necessary compromises, will achieve anything.

Beginning last year, we have tried to broaden the discussion, and we have had some success in doing so. I thank my colleagues who have participated in those broader discussions.

One reason we did that is our well-founded belief that the United Nations spends an altogether disproportionate amount of time on Israeli-Palestinian issues. It’s not that those issues are unimportant. They are certainly very important. The problem is that the UN has proven itself time and again to be a grossly biased organization when it comes to Israel.

As such, the UN’s disproportionate focus has actually made the problem more difficult to solve, by elevating the tensions and the grievances between the two parties.

Another reason we have attempted to shift the discussion is that the vast scope of the challenges facing the region dwarf the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

As we meet here today, the Middle East is plagued by many truly horrendous problems.

In Yemen, there is one of the worst humanitarian disasters on earth, with millions of people facing starvation. Meanwhile, militia groups fire Iranian rockets from Yemen into neighboring countries. In Syria, the Assad regime is using chemical weapons to gas its own people. This war has taken the lives of over half a million Syrians.

Millions more have been pushed into neighboring Jordan, Turkey, and Lebanon as refugees, causing major hardships in those countries.

In Lebanon, Hezbollah terrorists exert ever-more control, illegally building up a stockpile of offensive weapons, inviting a dangerous escalation that could devastate regional security.

ISIS is engaged in an inhumane level of cruelty in much of the region. They’ve been dealt severe setbacks in Iraq and Syria, but they are not completely yet destroyed, and they still pose serious threats.

Egypt faces repeated terrorist attacks.

And of course, there is the terrorist-sponsoring regime in Iran that initiates and encourages most of the troubles I just outlined.

These immense security and humanitarian challenges throughout the region should occupy more of our attention, rather than having us sit here month after month and use the most democratic country in the Middle East as a scapegoat for the region’s problems.

But here we go again.

I do not mean to suggest that there is no suffering in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Both sides have suffered greatly. So many innocent Israelis have been killed or injured by suicide bombings, stabbings, and other sickening terrorist attacks. Israel has been forced to live under constant security threats like virtually no other country in the world. It should not have to live that way.

And yet, Israel has overcome those burdens. It is a thriving country, with a vibrant economy that contributes much to the world in the name of technology, science, and the arts.

It is the Palestinian people who are suffering more. The Palestinians in Gaza live under Hamas terrorist oppression. I can’t even call it a governing authority, as Hamas provides so little in the way of what one would normally think as government services.

The people of Gaza live in truly awful conditions, while their Hamas rulers put their resources into building terror tunnels and rockets. The Palestinians in the West Bank also suffer greatly. Too many have died, and too much potential has been lost in this conflict.

We are joined here today by Palestinian Authority President Abbas. I’m sorry he declined to stay in the chamber to hear the remarks of others. Even though he has left the room, I will address the balance of my remarks to him.

President Abbas, when the new American administration came into the office last January, we did so against the fresh backdrop of the passage of Security Council Resolution 2334.

In the waning days of the previous American administration, the United States made a serious error in allowing that resolution to pass. Resolution 2334 was wrong on many levels. I am not going to get into the substance now.

But beyond the substance, perhaps its biggest flaw was that it encouraged the false notion that Israel can be pushed into a deal that undermines its vital interests, damaging the prospects for peace by increasing mistrust between the Israelis and the Palestinians.

In the last year, the United States has worked to repair that damage. At the UN, I have opposed the bias against Israel, as any ally should do.

But that does not mean I or our administration is against the Palestinian people. Just the opposite is true. We recognize the suffering of the Palestinian people, as I have recognized here today.

I sit here today offering the outstretched hand of the United States to the Palestinian people in the cause of peace. We are fully prepared to look to a future of prosperity and co-existence. We welcome you as the leader of the Palestinian people here today.

But I will decline the advice I was recently given by your top negotiator, Saeb Erekat. I will not shut up. Rather, I will respectfully speak some hard truths.

The Palestinian leadership has a choice to make between two different paths. There is the path of absolutist demands, hateful rhetoric, and incitement to violence. That path has led, and will continue to lead, to nothing but hardship for the Palestinian people.

Or, there is the path of negotiation and compromise. History has shown that path to be successful for Egypt and Jordan, including the transfer of territory. That path remains open to the Palestinian leadership, if only it is courageous enough to take it.

The United States knows the Palestinian leadership was very unhappy with the decision to move our embassy to Jerusalem. You don’t have to like that decision. You don’t have to praise it. You don’t even have to accept it. But know this: that decision will not change.

So once again, you must choose between two paths. You can choose to denounce the United States, reject the U.S. role in peace talks, and pursue punitive measures against Israel in international forums like the UN. I assure you that path will get the Palestinian people exactly nowhere toward the achievement of their aspirations.

Or, you can choose to put aside your anger about the location of our embassy, and move forward with us toward a negotiated compromise that holds great potential for improving the lives of the Palestinian people.

Putting forward old talking points and entrenched and undeveloped concepts achieves nothing. That approach has been tried many times, and has always failed. After so many decades, we welcome new thinking.

As I mentioned in this meeting last month, the United States stands ready to work with the Palestinian leadership.

Our negotiators are sitting right behind me, ready to talk. But we will not chase after you. The choice, Mr. President, is yours.

Thank you.

WILLIAMS: Western Values Are Superior!

https://www.dailywire.com/authors/walter-e-williams

“Is forcible female genital mutilation, as practiced in nearly 30 sub-Saharan African and Middle Eastern countries, a morally equivalent cultural value?”

Here’s part of President Donald Trump’s speech in Poland: “The fundamental question of our time is whether the West has the will to survive. Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?”

After this speech, which was warmly received by Poles, the president encountered predictable criticism. Most of the criticism reflected gross ignorance and dishonesty.

One example of that ignorance was penned in the Atlantic magazine by Peter Beinart, a contributing editor and associate professor of journalism and political science at the City University of New York. Beinart said, “Donald Trump referred 10 times to ‘the West’ and five times to ‘our civilization.’ His white nationalist supporters will understand exactly what he means.” He added, “The West is a racial and religious term. To be considered Western, a country must be largely Christian (preferably Protestant or Catholic) and largely white.”

Intellectual elites argue that different cultures and their values are morally equivalent. That’s ludicrous. Western culture and values are superior to all others. I have a few questions for those who’d claim that such a statement is untrue or smacks of racism and Eurocentrism. Is forcible female genital mutilation, as practiced in nearly 30 sub-Saharan African and Middle Eastern countries, a morally equivalent cultural value? Slavery is practiced in Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad and Sudan; is it morally equivalent?

In most of the Middle East, there are numerous limitations placed on women, such as prohibitions on driving, employment and education. Under Islamic law, in some countries, female adulterers face death by stoning. Thieves face the punishment of having their hands severed. Homosexuality is a crime punishable by death in some countries. Are these cultural values morally equivalent, superior or inferior to Western values?

During his speech, Trump asked several vital questions. “Do we have the confidence in our values to defend them at any cost? Do we have enough respect for our citizens to protect our borders? Do we have the desire and the courage to preserve our civilization in the face of those who would subvert and destroy it?” There’s no question that the West has the military might to protect itself. The question is whether we have the intelligence to recognize the attack and the will to defend ourselves from annihilation.

Much of the Muslim world is at war with Western civilization. Islamists’ use multiculturalism as a foot in the door to attack Western and Christian values from the inside. Much of that attack has its roots on college campuses among the intellectual elite who indoctrinate our youth. Multiculturalism has not yet done the damage in the U.S. that it has in Western European countries — such as England, France and Germany — but it’s on its way.

My colleague Dr. Thomas Sowell reveals some of the problem. He says, “Those in the Islamic world have for centuries been taught to regard themselves as far superior to the ‘infidels’ of the West, while everything they see with their own eyes now tells them otherwise.” Sowell adds, “Nowhere have whole peoples seen their situation reversed more visibly or more painfully than the peoples of the Islamic world.” Few people, such as Persians and Arabs, once at the top of civilization, accept their reversals of fortune gracefully. Moreover, they don’t blame themselves and their culture. They blame the West.

By the way, one need not be a Westerner to hold Western values. One just has to accept the sanctity of the individual above all else.

THE GUTLESS JEW HATERS OF THE UNITED NATIONS Vs THE SHINING LIGHT OF THE UNITED STATES!

Nikki-Haley-Veto-UN-Security-Council-Resolution-Jerusalem-e1513731465781-620x435

The U.N. Security Council critics of the U.S. decision to acknowledge the fact of Jerusalem as Capital of the State of Israel and its history as the ONLY and ETERNAL CAPITAL of the Jewish people for over 3000yrs, yet again demonstrates their sycophantic appeasement of the Islamic Cabal that controls today’s United Nations.

Once again, as so many times since Arab Oil and money took priority over conscience, the nations of the world cowered in the face of Muslim opinion and proved themselves gutless Jew Haters who, lacking any decency or seeming knowledge of history, fell back on the despicable post-1967 U.N. resolutions that followed Yasser Arafat’s widely admitted fabricated newly weaponised ethnicity, The Palestinians!

From 1917-1967, the term Palestinian referred to Jews living in the British Mandate region that the Brits cheekily called Palestine as a reference to the term for a part of Israel under Roman occupation 2000 years earlier – Palestina. Prior to the Romans & after the fall of the Roman Empire, the term disappeared until the British Mandate resurrected it following the defeat of the Turks in World War One. For over 600 years prior to that, what is Israel today, was simply part of the Ottoman Caliphate/Empire. None of this is news! After the allied victory in World War One , the defeated Ottoman Turks were stripped of their territory and the Partition Plan  was devised & ratified by the United Nations, thus restoring the Land of Israel to the only ethnic group who ever created a discrete nation there 3500 years ago & who defended it through multiple invasions, exiles, conquests & genocides, including the rejection of the Partition Plan and the mass attack by  surrounding Arab nations immediately upon Israel’s establishment.

The United States finally has a President with the determination and guts to follow through with the repeatedly deferred 1995 statute ordering recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital & the move there of  its embassy, as is routine for all other U.S. Embassies but the DisUnited Nations has once again ignored the right of the nation it created in 1948, of simply having its only ever capital acknowledged as a reality!

Only hatred of the Jews, the very same factor that led Britain, America, Australia & the other World War Two Allies to ignore the desperate pleas of World Jewish organisations for the Nazi concentration camps’ extermination infrastructure and the transportation lines that supported the Final Solution, to be bombed, a measure later acknowledged as potentially saving hundreds of thousands from terrible deaths. The allies didn’t care about the Jews then & other than America, they don’t care now.

Nikki Haley is spot on to berate the gutless, useless members of the Muslim dominated U.N. to demand that they butt out of U.S. internal affairs or lose U.S. funding & future participation. The “Palestinians”, Muslim majority nations and their supporters should be put firmly in their place, told that Muslim dreams of a Global Islamic Caliphate will never be realised & that if the Muslim nations currently sponsoring terrorism and Jihad fail to reign in & destroy Jihadist Extremists in their midst, they will no longer enjoy a place at the table with the United States.

President Trump has already declared that Islamic Jihadist Extremists will no longer be tolerated by the United States and that they and their sponsors will be destroyed…..it’s time for those who dare to continue to spread the toxic ideology of Islamic Jihad, to face the unbridled wrath of the most powerful nation on the planet, in the interest of world peace, stability and the safety and prosperity of our children and grandchildren.

Women in Saudi Arabia seeking to flee!

Mujeres en la peregrinación a Meca

Farewell my guardian. Some Saudi women are secretly deserting their country

The Economist  March 16th 2017

Saudi Women are fed up with being treated like children

CAN Saudi Arabia keep its women? Last month’s appointment of women to head two big banks and Tadawul, the kingdom’s stock exchange, offers hope that the path to a fulfilling career is not completely blocked. But the restrictions of Saudi life remain so irksome that covertly, silently, many women are finding ways out.On family trips abroad, some jump ship. Some, having been sent to Western universities at the government’s expense, postpone their return indefinitely. Others avail themselves of clandestine online services offering marriages of convenience to men willing to whisk them abroad. Iman, an administrator at a private hospital in Riyadh, has found a package deal for $4,000 offering an Australian honeymoon during which she plans to defect.Propelling the flight is the kingdom’s wilaya, or guardianship, law. Although it has received less publicity than the world’s only sex-specific driving ban, it imposes harsher curbs on female mobility. To travel, work or study abroad, receive hospital treatment or an ID card, or even leave prison once a sentence is served, women need the consent of a male wali, or guardian. From birth to death, they are handed from one wali to the next—father, husband and, if both of those die, the nearest male relative. Sometimes that might be a teenage son or brother, because although boys are treated as adults from puberty, women are treated as minors all their lives.Iman, a divorcee, is subject to the guardianship of her brother, who at 17 is barely half her age. He lets her work as a manager at a hospital, but pockets her earnings. She says she is kept like a chattel, while he spends her money on drugs and weekends in massage parlours in neighbouring Bahrain. Her ex-husband refuses to let her see their children. Her brother prevents her from completing her studies in Europe. If she protests, he threatens to beat her.She tried going to court to have the guardianship transferred to a more sympathetic elder brother, but the judge dismissed the case, she says, while talking on his phone. Though she dressed demurely in a full veil, she suspects the judge objected to her presenting her own case. Social services offer poor refuge, since hostels for abused women resemble prisons where the windows are barred and visitors banned. When she hears other women say that their brothers don’t beat them, Iman assumes they are lying “because they are scared of social housing”.Estimates of the number of “runaway girls”, to use the Saudi term, are imprecise, but, says Mansour al-Askar, a sociologist at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud University in Riyadh, the rate is rising. By his estimates, over a thousand flee the kingdom every year, while more escape Riyadh for Jeddah, the kingdom’s more liberal coastal metropolis.Dissenting Saudi scholars insist that the guardianship laws stem not from Islam, but the Bedouin customs that still hold sway in much of Arabia’s hinterland. Khadija, the Prophet Muhammad’s first wife, was a merchant who sponsored her husband. His subsequent wives moved between Medina and Mecca without him. “Islam freed women from the wilaya,” says Hassan al-Maliki, a theologian in Riyadh who has sometimes been jailed for free-thinking. “A woman can choose whom she marries.” But the clerics who man the judiciary maintain that guardians protect the vulnerable and keep families and, by extension, society together.Last December the courts sentenced a man caught denouncing the wilaya on social media to a year in jail. Another Saudi study, at a university in Mecca, acknowledged that some runaways might be fleeing physical abuse, but said that most had been influenced by the “misuse of social media, copying other cultures and weak beliefs”.Economists note that the guardianship system makes Saudi Arabia poorer. More than a quarter of the 150,000 students the kingdom sends abroad every year are women. Given that many defer their return or choose to remain in more liberal places like Dubai, much of the $5bn the government spends on their studies each year is going to waste. “Saudi Arabia is losing the battle to keep its talent,” says Najah al-Osaimi, a female Saudi academic who has settled in Britain.Awkwardly for reformers, some of the most tenacious advocates of the wilaya are women, particularly in obscurantist southern provinces like Asir. Despite such beguiling hashtags as #StopEnslavingSaudiWomen and #IAmMyOwnGuardian, a social-media campaign to end the wilaya system attracted just 14,000 signatures.Use them or lose themSaudi Arabia’s leaders acknowledge the need to make the kingdom more women-friendly. Already, more women attend Saudi universities than men. And although some men still send their own photographs when they apply for jobs for their wives (and even attend their interviews), in 2012 the kingdom waived the need for women to have their guardians’ approval for four types of work, including clothes-shop assistants, chefs and amusement-park attendants. In upmarket malls, women can be seen selling aftershave, boldly spraying samples onto male hands. Broadminded men can give their female wards five-year permits to move unaccompanied (though they get updates by text message whenever their charges travel abroad). Countrywide, the dress code has relaxed a bit. In big cities, women have added streaks of colour and patterns to the black abayas or cloaks that the state requires them to wear. Even in Burayda, the bastion of Saudi Arabia’s puritanical rite, women have cut slits for their eyes in veils that hitherto fully covered their faces, and let their abayas slip from their heads to their shoulders.Nonetheless many women seethe with frustration. On social media, footage of women riding motorbikes has gone viral. So too has a female silhouette, whisky bottle in hand, dancing on her car roof. A female pop group, clad in black, sings songs of protest from dodgems, toy cars, skateboards, roller-skates and other wheeled vehicles that they can legally drive. Unless the system adapts, warns Mr al-Askar, the sociologist, it risks crumbling. Judges and the police should work together to strip oppressive men of their right to be walis, he says. But for Iman, the hospital manager, reform can’t come soon enough. An Australian honeymoon awaits.

Corporate Attacks on Free Speech Gather Pace

I’m extremely concerned with Google’s just announced escalating attack on Free Speech, particularly in respect of You Tube and I believe the arrangement that it is entering with Leftist Organisations to provide oversight of posted videos, is a potential breach of the 1st amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The notion that Social Media Mega-Corporations are immune from the obligation to protect free speech when they exist & operate in a class of very few similar entities that have such an extremely unique & privileged societal position, has yet to be tested in the Supreme Court.

I hope that leave is sought from the Supreme Court to hear a test case if You Tube, Facebook, Twitter et al attempt to restrict conservative voices and I believe that such action is already being prepared in the interests of moving rapidly to protect Free Speech, the major pillar of democracy.

Soon the Supreme Court will have another new conservative Justice and within 2yrs there will likely be a third. At that point, the full force of the Court will undoubtedly be brought to bear against the Leftist propaganda machine that considers any opinion they disagree with as “hate speech.”

Google/You Tube also need to be aware that world Jewry do not consider the ADL as speaking for us. The ADL has become an unabashed Leftist/Marxist organisation fixated on barely visible “white supremacists” as a distraction and is ignoring the concerns of the majority of Jews, who as a group suffer 68% of violent hate crimes in the U.S. annually. The ADL is far more concerned about Islam being justly criticised for its bottomless pit of hatred and supremacism than they are about violent hatred against Jews. Simply take a look at the comments on the ADL’s Facebook page to see how upset the majority of Jews are to see the ADL act in line with many well-known neo-Marxist activism strategies.

Whatever Google’s long term aim might be, Socialist/Progressive ideology, weaponised by the Frankfurt School & its miserable depressive killjoys & honed to a sharp point by Saul Alinsky, is exactly the wrong path to take & will only serve to destroy the United States and beggar its people. Wake up Google/You Tube and cease your attempts to kill the very Goose that produced your stockpiles of Golden Eggs.

Churchill on Islam

“Churchill on Islam”

churchill-ease-and-comfort-dare-endure-quote_Fotor

Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was one of the pre-eminent figures of the 20th Century. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953.

Churchill gained first-hand knowledge of Islam in the army. In 1895, he was posted in the North-West Frontier of India (now Pakistan), bordering Afghanistan.

He wrote in The Story of the Malakand Field Force:

“Indeed it is evident that Christianity must always exert a modifying influence on men’s passions, and protect them from the more violent forms of fanatical fever. But the Mohammedan religion increases, instead of lessening, the fury of intolerance. It was originally propagated by the sword, and forever since, its votaries have been subject, above the people of all other creeds, to this form of madness.”

“Civilisation is confronted with militant Mohammedanism. The forces of progress clash with those of reaction. The religion of blood and war is face to face with that of peace. Luckily the religion of peace is usually the better armed.”

He also joined Lord Kitchener’s army in the Sudan, and took part in the Battle of Omdurman on September 2, 1898.

Churchill wrote in “The River War: An account of the Reconquest of Sudan:”

“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property either as a child, a wife, or a concubine must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.”

“Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die. But the influence of their religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science – the science against which it had vainly struggled – the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.

“What the horn is to the rhinoceros, what the sting is to the wasp, the Mohammedan faith is to the Arabs of the Sudan – a faculty of offence.”

“All the warlike operations of Mohammedan peoples are characterised by fanaticism. The Mahdi became the absolute master of the Sudan. Whatever pleasures he desired he could command and, following the example of the founder of the Mohammedan faith, he indulged in what would seem to Western minds gross excesses. He established an extensive harem for his own peculiar use and immured therein the fairest captives of the war.”

Churchill noted the threat of Wahhabism on June 14, 1921 in the House of Commons. At that time, Churchill was Secretary for the British colonies and he had been involved in the formation of Iraq (in 1921), Jordan (Transjordan) and Palestine, territories which Britain had liberated from the Ottoman (Turkish) Empire.

A large number of Bin Saud’s followers belong to the Wahabi sect, a form of Mohammedanism. Said Churchill,

“The Wahhabis profess a life of exceeding austerity and what they practice themselves they rigorously enforce on others. They hold it as an article of duty, as well as of faith, to kill all who do not share their opinions and to make slaves of their wives and children. Women have been put to death in Wahhabi villages for simply appearing on the streets. Austere, intolerant, well-armed, and blood-thirsty, in their own regions the Wahhabis are a distinct factor which must be taken into account and they have been and still are, very dangerous to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina.”

The Bin Saud to whom Churchill refers here is King Abdul Aziz bin Saud (c. 1880-1953), who would go on officially to establish Saudi Arabia in 1932. The Wahhabists slaughtered 25 of the Mahmal caravan members at Mina because they played trumpets. Music was forbidden to the Wahhabists. The incident soured relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Churchill reminds us: “An appeaser is one who feeds the crocodile hoping it will eat him last. Victory will never be found by taking the line of least resistance.”
